The question is.what are others using for inventory and documentation? I'm looking for a tool that can tell me what devices are where with what configuration. We have PRTG that can help, but it's got so many alarms from "false" devices found during the auto-scan. ![]() It's a nice tool, but perhaps too manual. We've setup a trial of iDoit and had a go. ![]() The issue is that we have no idea WHAT we're managing, and that needs to change. Letting a tool scan the network has always given unwieldy results or so many results there's not a clue where to start. I think we're making progress though.Ĭomputers are a mixed bag of domain computers and BYOD. Our documentation is old, disorganized, and thus hard to go through and find what you need. We have an IT team of only 6, all at the central location. Each center relies on a single internet connection for everything (houses, et al) at that location. The other 3 remote locations are each about 10 homes and an office. The big center has essentially the leadership (government), a medical clinic, a store, a school, and 70 residences. Our 4 locations are basically small, gated cities. We're a non-profit in a small country with horrible internet access. I've been looking into this for a while now, and still coming up short. ![]()
